Changes at the perimeter

With medium-term plans to upgrade the Perimeter highway, some changes are being made that will affect the Seine. A temporary bridge has been built to connect Aimes Rd with Frobisher and Creek Bend roads. The river has been rerouted a bit and a put-in for canoes and kayaks has been carved into the earth. Eventually, the Perimeter highway will be widened and a more permanent exit lane ramp/culvert will be built. In the meantime, there's this sweet and easy put-in adjacent to the end of Frobisher Rd., off St. Anne's Rd.

(Some personal observations: The Seine is already very put-in friendly and this amount of earth-moving isn't needed except for cases such as the accesible dock near John Bruce Rd. Also, this put-in is very gently sloped. That may be good for kayakers who sit in their watercraft and nudg into the water, but it's not as good for canoes. It's much easier to step into a canoe sideways from a short, sharp drop than a gentle slope. I ended up with a lot of gumbo on my hull)
